Hellenic Senior Community Service Centers
The Hellenic Senior Community Service Centers are designed to provide enrichment to the Greek and Greek-American senior population and are located at four New York City Greek Orthodox Church sites located in Queens, Manhattan, and The Bronx.
HANAC’s goal is to successfully empower this senior population as a group that can organize itself, retain its language and culture, and enjoy and benefit from the activities available within the program. Each center determines its own programs, which may include recreational activities, cultural programs and trips, arts and crafts, and educational speakers. Centers also provide information and access to city services, as well as service referrals.
This program is funded by the New York City Council through the Department for the Aging and serves almost 750 seniors annually.
